Ethics

 

People may be worried or concerned about privacy and confidentiality. At all times I will uphold and adhere to the codes of ethics of the various professional bodies of which I am a member. I am committed to providing a safe, accepting, and confidential environment where growth and development are nurtured and supported.

I will treat in confidence personal information about you. Such information includes name, address, biographical details, and any descriptions of your life and circumstances which might make you identifiable to others.*

I have an underlying ethos of "person-centredness." I will always work in ways which promote your personal autonomy. I work in accordance with the code of ethics of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and the other professional bodies that I am accredited with.
